This Book coincides with the art installation The Golden Teacher. Memories, sacrificed secrets, short stories, poems. An offering -- as the artwork contains mushrooms that will never be taken and experienced.
[The Golden Teacher] operates as an altar and talisman, celebrating the mushroom as an intelligent conduit for knowledge: Something special, other worldly, and mysterious. Sacred in presentation, Nadeau wanted to ritualize the object. The light box seductive glow illuminates the psilocybin “golden teachers” beautiful varying forms cast in resin. By making the organic encapsulated material eternal, Nadeau displays it’s powerful, secretive, seductive nature.
There is an explicit tension however, as the sacrificed mushrooms are encased in resin never to be had. You can not touch them, or ingest them. It’s potential teases you, out of reach in plain sight. All the experiences and memories locked away.
