Platetectonics 2008
With KNS design collective; this set of glass dishware presents the guest with natural land formations from around the world. The set could inspire conversation on the origin of food, or a consideration of unique landscapes both near and far. Modern 3-d rendering software and printers have changed the way topographical information is materialized. It is possible to graph the landscape under the sea, on land, even across distant planets and the moon, and translate this data into dishware. Enjoying a southwestern dip served in a dish, which has been rendered from topography of a canyon in the southwest, adds an unexpected layer to the dining experience
